Since it has so many advantages, do you put a comforter inside a duvet cover?

You could, but it is better not to. A comforter has a filling (synthetic fiber) that is quilted or stitched. It is a piece of bedding that is intended to sit atop your sheets and does not need a cover.

• Place the duvet on the cover and tie corner tabs if present
• Now, align both the cover and the duvet properly, hold their top seams such that they stay together and pick them up.
• Creep your hands towards the bottom one by one and catch the bottom of the cover and the duvet together. 
• Now flip the cover so that it is outside out. Roll and shake the cover so that the duvet is properly inserted. 
• Lay the covered duvet flat on the floor or bed and secure it with whatever is provided (zipper, button, etc).
• Smoothen the duvet inside the cover by running the palms of your hand over the surface
• Lay the duvet on the bed with the buttoned part at the base or top of the bed, according to your preference.
• Make a solution of water and essential oils and spray it on the duvet cover. This will help you get a relaxing sleep plus keep wrinkles away from the duvet.

Coming to the duvet, it too is made up of two parts – the cover and the filler.    

Also known as ticking, the shell is made from manmade fibers or durable cotton. It must have a high thread count of 300 or more to keep the filler inside intact without compromising on breathability. 

Ideally, a duvet shell must be durable, easy to clean, and highly breathable. They generally come in gray, cream, and white colors as they can adapt easily to most duvet cover designs

A duvet cover, duvet insert, and most times a matching pair of pillow shams are considered a duvet set. However, when buying a duvet, it may come with corresponding linens while the inserts are often sold separately.

Duvet cover is a case or a pocket. This means that it has two layers of fabric. Thus the duvet cover becomes quite thick even without an insert. It can be used as light bedding or as a cover-up for the summer months.

Putting a comforter inside a duvet cover requires the same steps as putting an insert in a duvet cover. However, care must be taken to choose the right cover according to the size of the comforter. 

That said, comforters differ from duvets because they don’t need covers. Unless you’re a stickler for hygiene, there’s no need to cover your comforter.

Yes. you can put a blanket in a duvet cover as long as it is of the corresponding size. However, if it is not, you can alter the size of the cover if it is bigger than the blanket.
